“Biafra Is Not for Cowards” — IPOB Slams Comparison Between Nnamdi Kanu and Exile-Based Agitator

July 9, 2025 — The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a scathing rebuttal to what it describes as a “delusional and insulting” comparison between its detained leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and a self-proclaimed Biafra activist operating from Helsinki, Finland.

In a press release signed by IPOB’s spokesperson, Comrade Emma Powerful, the group condemned the unnamed content creator—widely believed to be associated with a so-called Biafra Government in Exile—for claiming to represent the Biafran cause while allegedly denying it in court and promoting instability through social media.

“It is an obscenity of the highest order to equate a man who has endured persecution for Biafra with a keyboard fraudster who denied Biafra in court,” the statement declared.

IPOB emphasized that Kanu remains a symbol of “discipline, sacrifice, and integrity,” citing his ongoing detention, legal battles, and opposition to criminality in the name of self-determination. The group accused the Finland-based agitator of using the Biafra movement for “YouTube clicks” and personal fame.

“How can anyone claim to be leading Biafra from inside a barbing salon in Helsinki? Do Biafrans look like fools?” IPOB asked.

The group reiterated its rejection of armed groups, fake governments, and counterfeit Biafran documents, stating that Kanu has publicly issued strict instructions against such practices.

“Biafra is not a content creation business. Biafra is not for cowards. Biafra is not a joke,” IPOB said.

Despite internal criticisms and confusion surrounding the Biafra agitation, IPOB insisted it remains a non-violent, law-abiding, and internationally respected movement, asserting that the ongoing legal failures to convict Kanu only highlight the strength of their cause.

The statement concluded by warning that IPOB has no alliance with criminal elements using the Biafra name for personal gain, emphasizing that when Kanu eventually speaks, “all the noise and confusion shall give way to clarity, order, and purpose.”
