IPOB Reacts to Garba Shehu’s Confession on Buhari’s Illness, Says Nnamdi Kanu Has Been Vindicated

Naija Blog —
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has reacted strongly to recent comments by Garba Shehu, former spokesperson to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, describing his admission of deception over Buhari’s health as a vindication of the group’s leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

In a press statement signed by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, the group expressed “righteous vindication” over Shehu’s revelation that the infamous ‘villa rat invasion’ story was fabricated to mask Buhari’s prolonged illness and absence from governance. IPOB stated that the confession has confirmed Nnamdi Kanu’s long-standing claim that Buhari was gravely ill and that Aso Rock was operating under deception.

According to the statement, “What Mazi Nnamdi Kanu said years ago on Radio Biafra — that Muhammadu Buhari was gravely ill and incapable of leading Nigeria, and that Aso Rock was enmeshed in a web of lies — has now been confirmed by one of the chief architects of that deception.”

IPOB accused Shehu and the political establishment of orchestrating a national fraud to deceive over 200 million Nigerians. “The same Garba Shehu who accused our leader of ‘fake news’ and ‘hate speech’ has now shamelessly confessed to misleading the nation. What greater treason exists than lying to an entire country about the health of its president?”

The group criticized Shehu’s admission as a “cowardly confession” driven by irrelevance rather than courage. “Where was this honesty when IPOB and our leader were being vilified, arrested, and labeled terrorists for speaking the truth?” IPOB queried, adding that in a sane society, those responsible for such deception would face prosecution for undermining national security and subverting the constitution.

The statement also emphasized that “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu does not lie or speculate — he speaks divine truth.” IPOB further asserted that the latest confession is another proof of Kanu’s prophetic warnings, not only about Buhari’s health but also about broader issues like the Fulani expansionist agenda and the illegality of his own abduction and extraordinary rendition.

IPOB called on the international community to take the revelations seriously, stating that continued silence would amount to complicity in the oppression of Nigerians. “You now have confirmation from the regime’s own spokesperson that the Nigerian people were deceived on a grand scale. If this does not concern you, then you are complicit.”

Ending with a quote from their leader, IPOB reaffirmed its resolve: “We are without fear before our enemies and, in the end, we always win.”
