– Urges Osun people to ignore fake news, focus on governance

In a statement issued on Saturday, July 6, by his Chief Press Secretary, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke reaffirmed that he remains a loyal member and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State.

Defection rumours are fake news – Adeleke
Naija Blog gathered that speculation had been rife on Friday that the governor had concluded plans to dump the PDPand contest for re-election on the platform of the APC.
However, Adeleke said the claims were baseless and politically motivated, aimed at distracting his administration from its five-point development agenda.
“We’re focused on delivering good governance”
The governor urged Osun residents to ignore fake news, reassuring them of his unwavering commitment to delivering democratic dividends and good governance across the state.
“My preoccupation is the effective implementation of our five-point agenda, and I urge all citizens to stay focused with us,” he said.
Adeleke’s meeting with Tinubu fuels speculation
The rumour gained traction after Governor Adeleke, his elder brother Deji Adeleke, and Afrobeats singer Davidorecently visited President Bola Tinubu at his Lagos residence. The meeting sparked political interpretations, but Adeleke insists the visit had no bearing on party loyalty.
“Our family is committed to national unity and progress, but this does not equate to party defection,” an aide told Naija Blog on background.
