The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially released the names of successful applicants recruited into the Nigeria Police Force, marking the completion of the recruitment process for 50,000 new police officers.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Commission's Head of Protocol and Public Relations, Torty Njoku Kalu.
According to the PSC, the publication of the successful candidates followed the successful conclusion of the written examination and other stages of the nationwide recruitment exercise.
The Commission described the recruitment process as comprehensive, inclusive, transparent and equitable, noting that it was conducted in collaboration with key government agencies and stakeholders to ensure credibility and compliance with the federal character principle.
The statement disclosed that the exercise was carried out in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), the Federal Character Commission (FCC), the Ministry of Police Affairs, state career and counselling departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC).
According to the PSC, the participation of these organisations was aimed at guaranteeing fairness, transparency and equal representation throughout the recruitment process.
The Commission directed all candidates who participated in the recently concluded written examination to visit the official police recruitment portal to check their application status.
It stated that the portal, npfapplication.psc.gov.ng, will become accessible from 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, for applicants to verify whether they were successful.
Applicants are required to log in using the details they provided during the application process to confirm their recruitment status.
The PSC also advised candidates to rely solely on the official recruitment portal and authorised communications from the Commission to avoid misinformation.
According to the statement, successful applicants will receive notifications through the email addresses and phone numbers they submitted during registration.
"Successful candidates will also receive email and SMS notifications on the email addresses and phone numbers they provided during the initial application," the statement read.
The Commission explained that the notifications would contain details of the next phase of the recruitment process.
Successful candidates are expected to report to their designated Police Training Institutions for medical examinations and documentation before commencing formal training.
"The successful candidates are expected to report to their designated Police Training Institutions on dates and times to be communicated in due course for medical examination and documentation," the PSC stated.
It added that the specific reporting dates, times and training institutions assigned to each successful candidate would be announced in due course.
The medical screening and documentation exercise will serve as the final stage before the newly recruited officers begin their formal training in the Nigeria Police Force.
