Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called on President Bola Tinubu to reconsider seeking re-election in 2027, citing Nigeria’s worsening security situation.
Obi expressed concern over the continued wave of kidnappings, killings, and violent attacks across the country, arguing that the government’s handling of insecurity has left many Nigerians feeling unsafe and abandoned.
According to him, addressing the nation’s security challenges should take priority over political ambitions. Obi maintained that restoring peace, protecting lives, and rebuilding public confidence must remain the government’s immediate focus before discussions about another term in office.
