France captain Kylian Mbappé continued his outstanding form at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring twice as Les Bleus defeated Sweden 3–0 to book their place in the Round of 16.
The Real Madrid forward extended his impressive scoring streak with another clinical display, taking his tournament tally to six goals and moving level among the competition’s leading scorers. His performance once again highlighted why he remains one of the biggest stars of the tournament.
France dominated the match from start to finish, with Mbappé opening the scoring before adding a second after the break. Bradley Barcola also found the net to seal a convincing victory for Didier Deschamps’ side.
With the win, France advances to face Paraguay in the next round as they continue their pursuit of another FIFA World Cup title. Norway and Mexico also secured victories in their respective knockout matches to progress further in the competition.
