Social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) joined hundreds of residents in Oyo State to protest the kidnapping of schoolchildren and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area.
The protest was aimed at drawing attention to the victims and urging security agencies to take stronger action to secure their release.
According to VDM, some thugs were allegedly sent to stop the protesters during the movement. He claimed the group remained determined despite the threat and continued their march.
Videos from the protest showed large crowds following VDM as they demanded justice and called on the government to rescue the kidnapped children and teachers.
While VDM maintains that thugs attempted to disrupt the protest, independent confirmation of those claims is still limited. However, the protest itself has attracted widespread attention across Nigeria as concerns continue to grow over insecurity and the safety of schoolchildren in Oyo State.
