The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State has been captured confronting police officers stationed on a highway for allegedly blocking the road, despite existing directives against the practice.
In a video that has since attracted attention online, the police chief questioned the officers over the roadblock, reminding them of an earlier order that no police personnel should obstruct roads under any circumstances.
“Why are you blocking the road? You didn’t hear when the Commissioner of Police said no police officer should block the road anymore for any reason? What’s your name? What’s your rank?” the CP was heard asking the officers.
The incident highlights ongoing efforts by the Rivers State Police Command to enforce professionalism and ensure compliance with directives aimed at improving public confidence and easing traffic movement across the state.
The command has yet to issue an official statement on whether disciplinary measures will be taken against the officers involved.
