United States President, Donald Trump, has revealed that his administration could shift its military focus to Cuba after ongoing operations against Iran.
Trump made the disclosure on Thursday at the White House while hosting players and officials of Inter Miami CF, the 2025 champions of Major League Soccer.
Addressing the audience—many of whom were Miami residents and individuals of Cuban heritage—the US President suggested that Washington’s attention could move toward Cuba once the current situation involving Iran is concluded.
According to Trump, the United States wants to “finish” the ongoing conflict with Iran first before considering any further action elsewhere.
“What’s happening with Cuba is amazing. We think that we want to fix, finish this one first, but that will be just a question of time before you and a lot of unbelievable people are going to be going back to Cuba, hopefully not to stay,” Trump said during the event.
His remarks come barely a week after escalating military tensions in the Middle East involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
During the gathering, Trump also provided an update on the ongoing conflict, stating that American and Israeli forces were continuing their military campaign against Iran.
The development has further heightened global concerns about the potential expansion of the conflict beyond the Middle East, especially if Washington eventually redirects its military attention toward Cuba.
Analysts say Trump’s statement may have been aimed at energizing Cuban-American supporters in Miami, a community historically critical of the Cuban government. However, the comment has already sparked debate among political observers over whether it signals a future foreign policy direction or was merely rhetorical
