The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a strong clarification statement, insisting that the Monday, February 2 sit-at-home order remains sacrosanct and will fully hold, despite what it described as coordinated misinformation and infiltration attempts.
In a statement signed by Comrade Emma Powerful, IPOB warned the public to disregard fake notices, fabricated resignations, and statements allegedly issued by individuals “masquerading as IPOB or DOS members” to undermine the movement.
According to the statement, Indigenous People of Biafra reaffirmed that anyone acting on behalf of the Nigerian government or the ruling APC while using IPOB’s name would be exposed in due course.
Ejiofor “Sacked Over Two Years Ago” — IPOB
IPOB categorically stated that Ifeanyi Ejiofor no longer represents Mazi Nnamdi Kanu or the organization, stressing that he was relieved of all responsibilities more than two years ago.
The group questioned claims that Emma Powerful “does not exist,” noting that Ejiofor allegedly wrote to him as recently as Sunday, urging him to call off the sit-at-home order.
“If I do not exist, who exactly did he write to?” the statement queried.
Alleged DOS Compromise, Soludo Meetings Condemned
The statement further accused some individuals appointed into the Directorate of State (DOS) of betraying the struggle by allegedly holding meetings with Charles Soludo, aimed at weakening the solidarity shown by traders of Onitsha Main Market in support of Kanu.
IPOB described such actions as shameful and warned that those involved had “compromised the integrity of the struggle.”
Fake Resignations, Media Deception
Emma Powerful dismissed online reports of his resignation as “fake and fabricated,” adding that the same people he spoke with days earlier were now spreading lies to confuse Biafrans.
He also alleged that anti-Biafra forces opposed to Kanu’s release have hijacked online platforms, using the names of IPOB and DOS to mislead the public.
Media Appearances Announced
The IPOB spokesperson announced that he would be appearing on radio, television, and talk shows from Monday through Tuesday morning to further clarify the situation.
Final Call to Biafrans
IPOB urged Biafrans to remain vigilant, ignore misinformation, and fully comply with the Monday sit-at-home order, insisting that the wider IPOB family remains united and uncontaminated.
“Charlatans will be unmasked,” the statement concluded.
