[BREAKING]: Tinubu Is Gone – Lauretta Onochie

Former presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie, has reacted to reports of an airport incident involving former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, following his return to Nigeria.

Reports indicated that security operatives allegedly attempted to detain El-Rufai at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, shortly after he arrived in the country, sparking widespread political reactions.

Onochie, in a post shared on her verified X account, described El-Rufai as a politician who foresaw the development, claiming that he had earlier predicted a possible arrest upon his return.

She stated that the situation was not surprising and characterised those behind the alleged move as predictable political strategists. According to her, there are efforts to stop certain political actors from achieving for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2027 elections what they achieved for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 polls.

In her message, Onochie also declared that Tinubu’s political era was over and ended with prayers for Nigeria.

“The man who saw tomorrow. Only yesterday, he predicted they would try to arrest him on his return. Predictable political strategists. They want to stop us from doing for ADC in 2027 what we did for Tinubu in 2023. Tinubu is Gone. God bless Nigeria,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, El-Rufai has condemned the alleged attempted arrest, describing it as illegal. In a statement issued through his lawyer, Ubong Esop Akpan, the former governor criticised the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for issuing a letter of invitation while he was outside the country.

The development has continued to generate reactions across political circles, with observers closely monitoring unfolding events surrounding the former governor and ongoing political realignments ahead of future elections.
