The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that he is the most abused politician in Nigeria after President Bola Tinubu.
Wike made the claim on Saturday in Ochigba, Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, during a meeting with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders. The gathering formed part of the end-of-year thanksgiving serviceorganised by former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche, in his hometown.c g g
According to the former Rivers State governor, the frequent attacks on him stem from his insistence on honoring agreements and ensuring that his political supporters are not sidelined.
He said many of his critics are uncomfortable because he stands firm on commitments reached with political allies.
“After Tinubu, the next most abused politician today is me. Why are they abusing me? Because they know that agreement is agreement,” Wike stated.
He stressed that any political arrangement that cannot be implemented should not be entered into in the first place.
Wike also reiterated his stance that his political structure remains committed to supporting President Bola Tinubu, in line with earlier agreements.
“So for us, long before now we have agreed that we must make sure that we will continue to support Tinubu. That is the position you took and that is the position we are going to still take,” he added.
The minister urged his followers to remain steadfast, emphasizing that loyalty and consistency remain central to his brand of politics.
