[JUST IN]: Lagos Police Arrest Popular TikToker Peller (Full Video)

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested and detained popular social media influencer Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, following a viral video showing him driving recklessly while broadcasting live on social media — an act that reportedly led to a serious motor accident.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on Sunday, December 14, 2025, and was described as “suicidal” and extremely dangerous to other road users.

Confirming the arrest in a statement issued on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said the influencer’s actions posed a grave threat to public safety.

“The suspect was seen driving at a dangerous speed during a live broadcast, leading to a motor accident that posed grave risks to himself and innocent members of the public,” Adebisi stated.

The police disclosed that the matter has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough investigation. Authorities said the findings of the probe will be made public, after which Peller will be charged before a court of competent jurisdiction.

Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh, issued a stern warning to social media influencers, content creators, and the general public.

He cautioned against using social media platforms to promote or engage in reckless, dangerous, unlawful, or criminal acts, stressing that such behavior will not be tolerated.

“Such lawlessness will not be tolerated, and the full weight of the law will be applied on any offender,” the police commissioner warned.

The Lagos State Police Command further urged all motorists to strictly obey traffic regulations, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding lives and maintaining public peace across the state.
