A pastor of the Living Faith Church, also known as Winners’ Chapel, who was abducted along the Oke-Offin–Kabba/Bunu axis of Kogi State has regained his freedom after several days in captivity.
The cleric, who was kidnapped on Friday, December 27, 2025, was released unharmed, according to reports.
Sources disclosed that he was later found in Aiyetoro Gbedde in the Ijumu Local Government Area of the state, where he was allegedly abandoned by his abductors.
A local community platform, Egbe Mekun, claimed that no ransom was paid before his release. The pastor is reported to be in stable condition and is expected to reunite with his family.
The incident occurred while the pastor was reportedly travelling to his farm in Oke-Offin on a commercial motorcycle. Armed men intercepted them on the road, and while the motorcycle rider escaped unhurt, the pastor was taken away by the gunmen.
Earlier reports indicated that the pastor had “jumped off the motorcycle” when confronted by the kidnappers before being seized and taken to an unknown location.
Security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the development, but residents have welcomed the pastor’s safe return as investigations into the incident continue.
