British heavyweight Tyson Fury is eyeing a third showdown with Oleksandr Usyk instead of the long-anticipated all-British bout with Anthony Joshua, his promoter Frank Warren has revealed.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Warren confirmed that the former WBC heavyweight champion is determined to return to the ring in 2026, with his top priority being revenge against Usyk — the man who handed him the only two defeats of his professional career.
“The fight he really wants is another go with Mr. Usyk; he really wants that,” Warren said. “They were great fights — really close fights — and I’d watch that again. That’s the fight he talks about all the time.”
Fury, 36, briefly announced his retirement in January but has continued training privately. The British boxer lost twice to Usyk in 2024 — first in a near-stoppage thriller, then again by a narrow points decision in their rematch.
Despite those setbacks, Warren insisted that Fury still has more to give, dismissing any suggestion that the “Gypsy King” is past his prime.
“He hasn’t got a lot of miles on the clock,” Warren said. “He’s nobody’s fool. He’s a very smart guy — he knows what he’s got left. He’s a fighting man, and if he decides to move forward and do it, he’ll do it.”
Fury’s renewed focus on Usyk means British boxing fans may once again have to wait for the long-discussed super fight with Anthony Joshua.
The two heavyweight icons have been linked since the mid-2010s, but despite years of negotiations, public exchanges, and fan anticipation, the dream matchup has yet to materialize.
As both fighters approach the twilight of their illustrious careers, hopes for the historic all-British clash appear to be fading, while Fury looks firmly set on settling unfinished business with Usyk.
