Veteran Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Bode George, has expressed shock over the defection of Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during an interview on Tuesday, George admitted he did not foresee Mbah’s departure, despite multiple interventions by senior party members to dissuade him.
“I never saw it coming. In fact, when Anyanwu was reinstated as secretary to complete his assignment, he even instructed his people not to attend meetings,” George said.
According to Politics Nigeria, Governor Mbah officially confirmed his exit from the PDP on Tuesday, marking another major defection from the opposition party.
While wishing the governor success in his new political chapter, Bode George maintained that the PDP remains resilient and united despite the recent wave of defections.
