A three-storey building has collapsed in the heart of Lagos Island, leaving residents in shock and prompting a swift emergency response. The incident occurred at 2/4 Asesi Lane, off Sasi Lane (SASI Palace), along Adeniji Adele Road, on Thursday morning.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed the incident in a Facebook post, revealing that four individuals have so far been rescued from the debris and are currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
The cause of the collapse remains uncertain, and an investigation is expected to be launched by state authorities.

LASEMA and other agencies have yet to release an official statement on the number of occupants in the building at the time of collapse or whether there were casualties beyond the four rescued.
