The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed that its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting will hold on Thursday, July 24, 2025, amid growing speculation surrounding the future of its national leadership.
According to an official notice signed by the party's National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, the meeting is being convened in accordance with Article 12.3 of the APC Constitution.
The NEC meeting is scheduled to commence at 11:00 AM at the party’s national secretariat, located at 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja. All NEC members are expected to be in attendance.
While the agenda of the meeting has not been made public, political observers believe the session may be used to appoint a new National Chairman following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje last week.
Ganduje, a former Governor of Kano State, stepped down from his position amid reports that the APC is making moves to woo his long-time political rival, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, into the ruling party.
The potential shift in party leadership has heightened internal discussions within the APC, especially as the party prepares for key political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
